2011 National Survey of School Counselors: Translating Results to Inform Training, Practice and Policies Webinar

March 27, 2012, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EST
Patricia Martin, Assistant Vice President, The College Board, NOSCA

The results of the 2011 National Survey of School Counselors, Counseling at a Crossroads were released November 2011 to the nation on Capitol Hill in Washington DC and at the statehouse in Austin, Texas. The objective of the survey was to give voice to school counselors giving insight into how they view their roles and mission, as well as capture their perspectives on measures of accountability and education policies and practices that could strengthen their roles in the systems in which they work. This webinar provides a deeper discussion of how the results of this first annual survey of secondary school counselors can be used to inform the nation in three areas: (1) pre-service training, (2) on the ground practice in secondary schools and districts, and (3) local, state and national policies.
